We had one raised and moved about 50 yards last fall and set upon a hopper bottom, just as you noted, tire with chain through top hole, no problem. Just didnt know about the strength of the bottom rings. Just so happen we do own an old Donahue trailer as you described. It needs a couple of boards replaced, but wanted to do that anyway. I wonder if I would need to lay some 2x8's or something across the bottom to help distribute the weight as the bin is wider than my Donahue?
