Maybe this could be our next cover crop ?...as around here they grow easier than a radish....or any of the others LOL.

I knew they rooted deep, but never pursued it like that....How tall was the top, in your pic....just curious.
Reminds me of a dandelion, if let go.

Where my cereal rye is planted I REALLY have great suppression, on the ground I dont have rye, the Fall spray program and Spring burndown has worked great.
The tillage in Spring worked for me too, I had some ends that were kind of rutted / packed, and took the danish tine and just leveled things up, and it was visible all year long that they were clean of marestails, ( this was before my Fall / Spring herbicide application ).

Of all my things I have tried, I like the cereal rye cover the best. I also think there are years when you have more pressure than not.
