Subject: RE: Dicamba Volatilization

precisefarmer - 6/13/2015 22:24 I had 4oz of dicamba in my corn herbicide mix that I sprayed on a field 3 weeks ago. I have soybeans across the road that were not up at the time I sprayed this mix. Temp was 75 degrees and wind was blowing 10 mph toward bean field, but like I said, they were not up yet. Soybeans came up, looked fine. Drove past them last week and they looked great. Drove by today and they look rough. Leaves are badly cupped. Could the dicamba I sprayed 3 weeks ago have caused this?

It would take a lot of drift to cause this.  And I sorta doubt you could gas off enough and have it settle back down on the adjacent field in sufficient amounts to cause problems -- but perhaps, given how ultra-sensitive beans are to dicamba.

Was there any other dicamba sprayed in the vicinity after your beans had emerged?

Are you sure the leaf cupping is dicamba injury?  Several other things can cause leaf cupping in soys.
