| New Holland 630/634/638/BR730 are plentiful here on the used market as they have a limited market. You might want to consider a used 4x5 and just change the size setting.
They have spring not hydraulic tensioning which do an adaquet job but no more. You'll be disappointed at how loose the bale will get with handling and the sloppy look of unwound twine all over.
Check the cv universal joints in the pto shaft for any play.... the always need to be well greased and cost big $$$ to replace.
Also, the main roll drive bearing is a weak point. Topmost roller on the machine's left. I modified the drive sprocket to provide space for an eccentric locking collar so the bearing will always rotate with the shaft.... not originally set up that way. | |
