southern MN | Water drainage ditches, we are criss crossed with them, every mile or at most 2 around here, low ground high water tables.
Most were shored up and have reversed slope to then as they were cleaned out over the past 40 years the spoils were piled and graded down into the fields, to combat erosion. You were forced to run a tile along side the ditch and pick up the puddled water and feed it into the ditch.
Now they are just outright taking the land away from you.
Minnesota already had a 16.5 buffer set up in the 1990s, it was on a slow track, only when your county got around to setting that up did it kick in.
For roads, you already can't put a fence on the road right of way by me, you have to set back 10 feet I believe? You can farm it, but not fence it.
