King City, Mo
Nothing.

When beans were $15 I was willing to pay $30/acre for a cover. Now with $8.75 fall price beans $10-15 is where I'm comfortable.

I planted my corn last year Into green wheat. Use paraquAt plus something with atrazine in it to kill it as rup takes forever and antanogism with rup and Atrex. No trash whips just a culter out front. No fancy closing wheels either.

I'd also fertilize the wheat with plenty of N so the leaves are excessive with nitrogen so they decomp faster.

Rye has more of a massive root system and can be planted later then wheat but is gonna cost more per unit of seed. Also the c:n of rye is higher so takes longer or more N to decomp.

If it ends up going to grain elevators will buy wheat in kc but not rye....
