I am sorry guys. Seems I have hijacked this thread. I was just trying to show the op that he isn't alone...it's kids everywhere.
The sheriff's logic was that they only have 2 deputies on at night and that it takes 3 hrs per arrest to process for underage drinking...there fore it would have taken him 1200 hrs to arrest them.
Also...he said the kids parents would not show up at court...they don't a knowledge the law...on the other hand they would not sue us either.
Also...u can't go to the bishop because these parties are always held several counties away from their church area to avoid getting in trouble. Evidently they get in their vans and drive until they find a secluded field and then send texts out with the address to all their friends..then those friends text their friends. The amish bishop in our neighbor was my babysitter growing up and he was ashamed when I showed him the pics...but said it wasn't kids from his church
It's the same problem the op is dealing with...parents who aren't in control. My dad would have whipped my butt every day till Christmas if I had done that as a kid...but times are changing :(

And so, do nothing, and the next party is bigger, and more wild.....

And in 20 years, those kids are parents of even more irresponsible kids, because there are zero efforts at any repercussions....

You tried to do something, you called the law.

The run over kid, his injuries are at the hands of him, his friends, his parents, his bishop, the neighbor bishop, the sherriff. The people who are doing nothing to shape up society.

Do nothing, and the problem gets worse.

So it takes hours to write up tickets. So you don't write any tickets.

Next year, the problem is twice as big, and so - nothing is done.

And the next year....

We have Detroit, St Louis, Washington, D.C. We have the Amish mafia I guess....

Sheriffs job is to uphold the law, not let law breakers break the law.

Why don't we do anything? Why do we let this go on? The sherriff, the parents, the bishops - if they all are turning blind eyes to this, what future is there for that area?

Society is sick.

This all applies to the original post as well. Tho someone stood up and did something about it, the one kid is paying for it, so action was taken. Perhaps the kid driving in the field isn't writing the check, but over time his actions are accounted for, and that shows up in society.
