central ohio..between Springville and Millbrook. | A couple months ago over 400 amish kids showed up in conversion vans in one of our hayfields and partied all night long. Beer bottles throughout the field and up the road 2 miles in the ditch. They left whole coolers of beer laying in the field and turf ed the heck out of it. Destroyed the field. At 2 in the morning one kid passed out drunk in the tall hay and got run over by a pickup...he had to be life flighted out of there. I got there at 7 a.m. and there were still 2 van fulls of kids sleeping it off. I parked my truck across the field driveway and wouldn't let them.out till the sheriff got there. He said he knew about it the night before when the kid got hurt but "couldn't morally let them leave drunk so I made them stay and sleep" he said " these things happen...not much I can do about it" no charges were filed and the sheriff made me move my truck and let them out. The amish kids don't carry i.d. so they just laughed and knew there was nothing I could do about it.
I am still so furious I want heads too roll. ..but the cops say without knowing who actually hosted the party he can't charge anyone.
The disrespect of those kids to what they did to your wheat field is beyond my comprehension. Seems to be happening everywhere and their parents and cops won't hold them accountable any more
