| We have always used the old kan sun dryers. We had a 1973 model until just last year, and traded it for a little bigger, rebuilt unit. The bottom hopper, auger and floor where the arm that meters the corn out are what will be bad. Not so much from wear, but from guys leaving corn in there, and rusting out. Also the screens will rust out around seams and such where fines and red dog collect. If it's been stored inside, that should give you a much better chance of getting a good dryer.
I would think a 200 bu batch dryer is going to take a lot of babysitting. I realize your not putting much through it, but someone is going to have to be there all the time to dump batches and refill. | |
