You can't change a batch to continious flow unless it was made to do so.
If the dryer stored inside it should be okay. The first things To go on any dryer is rust and wear at the bottom of the dryer and bottom auger. Plus the electrical components.
Depending on the dryer, most have controls built in to run the auger to fill and the auger to discharge from the dryer.
Electricity and gas are dependent on the age and efficientcy of the dryer and how many points of moisture you are removing. In your case I don't think it is anything to be concerned about, it will still be much cheaper than having it dried and hauling back.
