The Internet

There is much gnashing of teeth here because the way further education is funded has been changed. Here people leave school, go to university and expect to walk into a well paid job. However, the labour market is flooded with graduates with no work experience or experience outside of education and an awful lot of these has degrees that are next to useless.

The whole university thing here has been oversold, it doesn't suit everyone, but everyone wanted to go and for a long time it was the only way to get a decent job. There is a shift now to more apprenticeship type education, where people learn their shills as they go on the job, this certainly suits me better. Personally I think university education should be reserved for the academic subjects.

People should very much look at what their further education is going to cost them and look at what it will gain them in extra money earned and life experiences.
