| Sounds like someone whose marketing plan isn't working. In SC Kansas, yes we will have more wheat than it looked like a month ago (which was perhaps 10 bpa). BUT, since it started raining, I have had over 12 inches of rain. We have stripe rust, leaf rust, freeze, hail, spots that were almost dead and came back, and now with too much rain, some of those same spots are turning white. In areas you can follow the terrace channels through the fields because of the dying wheat. So, yes I suppose the yield has increased. But from such a low level that it still won't be great. Harvest would be only a week or so away, early really, based on when heading started. But will all the late tillers that came on after the rains started, I am guessing still 3 weeks. | |
