Those who came through the 30ies did not throw anything away.
When the 'rags' they wore around home had to be retired then parts of them made patches for the next set of 'rags' and the rest was kept to make braised rugs for the floor.
Some really nice parts would be used to make a pieced quilt.
That is why they did not need weekly garbage pickup. | |
