Subject: RE: JD 7000 planter dry fert box questions

Near-north Ontario, French River
We always figured 900lbs total in a standard 7000 box equipped with extensions. That will depend on your blend of course . High rate and low rate augers are the same 'spiral', with the high rate augers the ends of each auger will almost touch in the center, if they are set for standard rate there is a gap of maybe 4-6 inches in the center. With the high rate extending farther into the box ( almost touching in the middle) more of the deep flighting is exposed... which obviously pulls more fert into the discharge.. hence " high rate" If you can snap a picture of your augers it's obvious which is which.
