 NW Central Ohio | ...I once welded about 5 straps across a 2" piece of tubing that I was using as the top piece on a sugar beet end gate. When I got done..the welds actually pulled that tubing (remember welds pull from each side and I was welding across the tubing) about 4 inches out of line. I then went back...and re-heated all the welds to a nice glow...and the tubing relaxed down to "almost" flat...in other words..it was bowed just enough that the pressure from a load would push it out straight. It was a rather interesting project.
