S.E. Iowa | Okay first Ill tell you I raise GMO corn ,but Ill also tell you that I have reservations over the safety and long term effects of them. Over the last hundred years companies and even scientist have touted the safety and positive benefits of many products, only to have health problems appear. Asbestos , DDT, Agent Orange, Teflon, all were said to be safe and to greatly benefit mankind but we have since found them to be problematic. I also understand that though cross breeding mankind has altered crops and plant life for thousands of years, but I do question it when we do it on the genetic dna level. Maybe my biggest concern is IF it was found that there could be long term health problems from a GMO product, could it be corrected or has the box been open with no chance of closing it. | |
