SW “Ohia” | Farm sales and machine shop auctions are the best place. New vises are hideously expensive compared to auction buys. You can resell them too; lot of demand for big vises and craigslist prices accordingly.
Look for Wilton, Yost, Columbian, Chas. Parker, Record, Old Craftsman, Reed, etc. I collect vintage bench vises and have never purchased a new one. They are just plain junk and not worth what they charge for them. | |
