Subject: RE: Ed Winkle

My deepest condolences to LuAnn and family. Ed was a great friend, teacher, advisor and mentor to me. I met Ed when agriculture.com was the hot page to talk farming on. I would always look for Ed's posts there and here. They always made me think. He was this guy who had some different ideas and I understood them. I emailed Ed out of the blue to ask him more about those ideas and that blossomed into a nearly 20 yr friendship that will be with me the rest of my days. We visited each other and I recall him and LuAnn coming to visit my family. They had a camper on his Chevy truck and I would set them up with water and electric at our grain bins. We would sit and talk for hours. They became my closest framily( more than just friends, more like my own family) When I traveled east for work I tried to swing by and visit when I could. Rest In Peace Ed. You fought a hard battle. You will be deeply missed.
