Subject: Does such a hyd fitting exist for planter markers

Wondering if anyone knows if any such hydraulic fitting exists ?

One direction would be free flowing the other direction would close a check valve and use an orifice to control flow rate ?

Situation:

Years ago on my 7200 standard planter the markers were tied into the wheel lift. Crossing waterways was a pain. Raise the planter the marker came up, cross waterway, stop, set planter down, wrong marker went down, lift planter and lower again to get correct marker to go down, then go. Lots of wasted time and motions crossing waterways and I did not want to plant through them.

So I removed the T from the lift cylinder and used a single separate hose to control the markers. This way you can raise the planter and leave the marker down through the waterway or cycle the markers independent of lifting the planter.

So basically it is a gravity down and power up function single acting with 1 hose.

Markers go down slow enough. Rate of drop valve on planter is clean and functioning correctly. Flow on 40 series JD outlet is turned clear down to turtle. Still whips the marker up too quickly for my liking and is hard on the marker bumper stop and marker.

I'd like to maintain full flow when going down as rate of drop is perfect. However I'd like to employ something in line in the single hose that maybe would close a check valve and force oil through an orifice instead that would considerably slow down the speed of the marker coming up ?

Does anything like this exist ?

Installed in the hose ? at what point ?

What would it be called ?

I think a simple orifice would make the rate of drop way too slow and according to the book the fitting on the planter is only for controlling rate of drop and does not affect lifting speed.

Ideas or suggestions ?
