No experience with the accumulator, but what is the knot strength on that twine? I know orangeline makes a 120(?) lb knot and a 170 lb knot. We typically use the 120 on hay but straw we'll use the 170 because we've had the same issues as you. NH 575 here, sadly no accumulator. Another thing to check, we had an issue for awhile where the knotters would fray the twine pretty bad about an inch from the knot. Don't remember what the adjustment was, but I know that cured our problem one time.
