Central IL | Like has been said above, Missouri crossing usually work well. I put a bunch in for a guy on a pasture through a creek that was probly 50-60 ft from top of bank to top of bank. Guy is real happy with how they work. They were funded by NRCS. Main thing is dig down all the way to solid clay. The creek I was working in had about 2' of nasty mud and then good solid clay. Put in RR3 to 6" below water flow grade. Then filled up with CA6 to 2" below water flow. Key is to keep it just below the flow so it doesn't wash out. The creek these were put in really gets to raging at times and they have help up great. Been a few years since I did them but if I remember right they were around $3500 per crossing for supplies and labor. Took about 2 days each. (One guy with excavator) | |
