Eastern Kansas | Son has gotten in trouble 3 times now (that we know of) for hitting / getting physical with other kids at school / on the bus. Also he has lied about it. Frankly I am madder than heck about it. We spank at our house when it is necessary but I have not spanked in these instances because I've felt like that is the wrong thing to do in order to teach him that hitting is not acceptable. So, how do you discipline in this scenario? Obviously a severe tongue lashing (not cussing) is not working. He is 8 and the oldest with 3 younger sisters. He is normally a very good kid, and normally has a heart of gold. So I'm not sure where this is coming from, but I want to nip it in the bud now before it gets out of hand.
