Subject: Re: Anyone running a non FFV on E85?

I have a coworker who did the 5050 thing with his non FFV taurus. 50 mile commute, 400-500 miles per week.
His fuel cost per mile DID NOT GO DOWN as his miles per gallon, as expected, was lower, so it was for him an unnecessary risk. Your biggest risk is probably damage to seals/hoses/Ox sensors and of course Loss of warranty coverage if you're still in it. Forget figuring MPG. Figure cost per mile, do the math, then decide what's a worthwhile risk. Conversion kits probably come with nine pages of fine print and disclaimers. Before you buy, ask the supplier to send you ALL the documentation such as install diagrams, parts lists, and the fine print. If he won't do it, you're right, he's shady.
