Not sure how many economists were exerting power in France in 1787. The first work of economics, Adam Smiths The Wealth of Nations was published only 11 years prior. And wasn't it the liberals (and radicals) who inspired the revolution? I think it's usually seen as a revolution of political and social values, not economic. Seinfeld is over your head?
