west central ohio | We have the landoll 9 shank soilsaver with the twisted shovels. We have pulled it for twenty years with a case 2670 with fluid in the tires and the fuel pump turned up a fuzz. That set up has stood the test of time, we run the unit at about 4.5 mph and about 7 inches deep in tight clay. Any deeper or faster and the plow starts to jump and buck, due to not enough weight. The one thing I would say that applies directly to what you are trying to do, is that with a twisted shovel the blow-out of clods from those shovels keep the tractor riding right on top of those clods on your next pass. We don't run duals either. So just guessing that if we are having that with a 9 shank then smaller will have the same prob or worse. I would try to go as wide as you can, just so you are not hugging the last pass with your tires. Ps a 2670 is about 235 hp stock. | |
