My local banks are making money hand over fist. Their deposits (liabilities) are many millions more than their outstanding loans (assets). I have observed bank balance sheets on Bankrate.com for years. I see very few banks that loan out 100% or more of their deposits. Please explain to me which banks are in engaged in fractional lending.
Next economic question. WHY is debt so prevalent throughout the world today?
