Wi | JJS87 - 2/15/2015 11:38 Not sure what its suppose to do or how its suppose to act in service mode. I jumped the seat switch and that didnt seem to have any affect. Cant seem to find the seat belt switch but with the seat belt unbuckled it dosent start with it buckled it starts. It shows there is suppose to be a fuse for the bucket in the fuse panel in the cab but there isnt even a so I for a fuse there.
Service mode just allows you to start the machine by overriding the interlock. It will not allow you to run the hydraulics. Check the position of this switch because even if everything is working properly, if you accidentally bump the switch to service it will not allow the boom/bucket to unlock. The switch must be in run for them to work.
If it starts, then the seat and seatbelt switch are both fine providing the switch is in the run position and not service position, its possible its in service position and your seat belt switch is bad but due to being in the service position its allowing the machine to start. It shouldn't start with either of those not working normally. The seat belt switch is inside the buckle, somebody found one at radioshack that you can fix it with, otherwise you can buy the entire assembly (they dont sell any of it seperate). If the board is lighting up when you sit down, the seat switch is working. If the seat belt light is not going out when you fasten the seat belt, there is likely something wrong with it. If it is going out then your issue is somewhere else. The seat belt switch gets power from the seat switch then sends it to the interlock and EIC.
Make sure the EIC (Electronic Instrument Cluster) is getting power from the seat belt switch (Light green wire, pin 11 of connector 2). Make sure the EIC is sending power out to the lock solenoids. You can test the lock solenoids by removing the cover between your feet. Sit down in seat with key on and buckle seat belt. Service switch in run. Unplug them and test for voltage, black wire is ground purple/blue is voltage. If no voltage, check against a good frame ground. If that works, repair the ground. If theres still no voltage yet the EIC is sending voltage, you have found your issue, start following the wires.
If there is voltage and its not unlocking you can check the solenoids, they should read 15-18ohm's.
Remove the fenders so you can follow the wiring harness. I do rememeber having an issue with one on one of the sides because the hoses rubbed through the wiring harness.
I just noticed you have an unlock button meaning you have a later one with a different EIC. We had a later one as well and most of it is wired very similar but there may be some differences on your machine.
