Central Minnesota | Anything bigger than a 10' on a skid loader is to much.
Used to do a lot of accounts in town. A shopko, some apartment complex's, and gas stations. Had a 10' on an S-250 with 2 spd. And it was all you ever wanted. You get any bigger than that, and you'd bog it down to much, and won't push snow as fast or efficiently as you would keeping your RPM's up, and using a smaller cut. Another one of the skids was an S-185, and the 10' was to much for that. Was always running out of power with that.
You get moving with a 10' and that snow will roll in front of it. It's a big load of snow your pushing. A big snow bucket works nice, but that 10' pusher takes on an awful lot more snow than a big bucket.
Just make sure you mark anything that would be hard, and won't move. You get a good snowfall, and have that on a tractor/loader, and hit it going at a pretty good speed, and you'll twist up that loader awful quick. I saw that happen on a skid loader before. | |
