I did the same thing with an windows XP computer years ago.  It technically all worked but when the OS woke up on a new board it wasnt happy about it.  It took a long time to get all the drivers that were connected to MB right and even then it wasnt quite right till I did a fresh OS install.  

A newer OS might handle this better but if I was doing it again Id figure on a fresh OS install right from the start.
