Pete,

Five inch row spacing is VERY narrow, by my standards. A theoretical square, 5x5" planting geometry will have ~6 plants per square foot, or ~250,000 seeds/acre. So at the populations you suggest, you will be "over square", and plant spacing down the row will be wider than the row spacing.

Seems you could save wear and expense by planting in 10" rows for those populations. But I know nothing of your conditions.
