It may do directly there, walk down the ML, or more likely the "A" and "C" pivots on your chart, price drifted back in to the fork but kept grinding lower. Are you referring to a trend line based upon the A and C of the pendulum fork? The "trendline" you mention is actually the LML of the modified schiff fork. That TL is really no different than the LML or UML of a standard fork. It has the same rules, but I use it sparingly. If your charting program allows it, create a mod schiff fork which is really moving the "A" point 50% vertically, and 50% horizontally....and apply them to the swings that hagopianed on a standard fork...and or often the first expansion swing after a confirmed trend change and see what you might learn....
