western NY
We always sow medium red clover into the wheat in the spring. Some sow it on the frozen ground like rite now but I have to wait until after I spray for weeds in the spring. Almost always get a good stand after wheat is off. Only real problem is if it gets wet around the time wheat gets ripe then the clover can get a little big and interfere with harvest. Sometimes when there is a hay shortage I sell some to the neighbors for silage in the fall.
