Michigan - Saginaw County | Ahh yes, the GM haters.
First, GM was taken over by the government at the specific demand of the UAW (as repayment for electing him) - and of Wall Street Banks for having loaned the money in the first place to make the government happy.
Hate the old GM top management all you want (and I do) but they had nothing to say about the White House dumping the debt onto the backs of you, your children, and your great, great grandchildren, to keep it afloat. That all happened above their pay grade.
And if you will look - that every GM exec who flew the corporate jets into DC for those congressional hearings is no longer employed.
The GM executive team was guilty of stupidity. They are reaping their rewards.
The politicians who decided the taxpayers should buy a bankrupt corporation are the ones you should be hating.
Without their interference each GM brand would have been sold off separately in a fire-sale and under new owners would now be lean, mean, and profitable. Especially the industrial and train stuff.
And UAW headquarters would be empty with a for-sale sign.
