![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=4702&type=profile&rnd=114) North Western Alberta | I cant believe it either Rosco! LOL Seriously though, this land is rented, and it has been mined BADLY. So, I have zero tilled, and this year, I just said, to heck with it, Im hammering the N and the micronutrients to it. So, I put 80 lbs of N down with the Nh3 toolbar, and 38 or so through the drill. ( My blend was for 35lbs N, and full micronutrients, @ 110lbs acre, but I set er at 130lbs/acre, and seeded it down. )
So, saying that, the soil tests should be pretty good, and with this drought, I bet I wont have to put more than about 50 or 60 lbs down, next year. I have seen continous improvements in soil tilth, and in soil tests though, since I took the land. I think, if we would have got rain this year, I would have had huge crops, cause even with no rain, its still pretty decent.
As for the Merge, I might have screwed up. I followed the instructions, but I do use dugout water, as the new home quarter doesnt have a well. So, that could be part of it hey? | |
