12" ear of corn, have you ever seen one?

Here are some pics of a couple ears I pulled earlier this a.m. And yes, for the sake of show I looked for healthy ears.

 

(Above) Left to right. RX785VT3 (18X35), DKC61-22 (22X28), Honey Select (18X34). Unhusked Honey Select (far right) I did not count all the way from butt to tip.

 

(Above) I guess the RX785 would have been close to 11" if the tip filled all the way, but no cigar. I have never heard the 12" ear mystery. Interesting though.

 

Also, interesting that RX785 and DK 61-22 have almost the same number of kernels.
