| I had 2 JD salesman that I trust that told me to staw away from the D series tractors, and no they weren't trying to upscale me to an M or R series as they know price wise they are off limits and they aren't gonna convince me otherwise. But basically they flat out told me that the workmanship and quality of those tractors aren't very good and they've had troubles with them.
One of them told me, look we're glad John Deere finally offers a no frills tractor ala a 4020 or 4440 without all the little accessories but updated with FWA and so forth, but the workmanship and parts put into these tractors just isn't worth pursuing. Told me to keep looking for a 10 series or 50-55 series.
They had them on the lot, told me look we'd love to
Sell you one but I don't think you're gonna be happy with one. I think that speaks volumes.
