Subject: RE: McCormick MTX tractors?

Freedom, WI
We don't have one, but a neighbor has an MTX 135 I believe. He uses it every day fall-spring to spread manure and then in summer to cut hay. He has gotten along pretty good with it. We used it once to spread a load of liquids and from our viewpoint, it was a nice tractor. It wasn't a Deere by any means, but if he hasn't traded it off yet, it means that he gets along fine with it. One of the biggest advantages I would see over an MX Case would be a quicker road speed. Like I said, he doesn't have a loader for it, so I am not sure how everything would hold up then. We were thinking about getting one and I had a friend tell me there were clutch issues with them but never figured out if that was true or not.

You can either buy an MFWD tractor or save some money, go with a 2wd, and do a garvo fix by pouring some concrete :)
