Have been making coffee for years at church, 1/2 cup of Folgers to 10 cups of water, Not sure how big a cup is but both are the same the Westbend and the bunn machine.
I agree maybe something in the water, run it though a filter and see if it tastes better.

We make our Church coffee using a HEAPING 1/2 cup of folgers, to 10 cups of water. Now, its strong, but we have a pitcher of HOT water so the sissy's can dilute it a bit.
Dont know how to make weak coffee stronger.

Most coffee cans have a label on what kind of roast that coffee is, The dark roast are pretty much only for diehards, even I have to watch how its brewed or it can get TOO strong.
Ive switched to Decaff (dr's orders) and finally got used to the flavor, but still like it STRONG.
