| On siding---what kind of new siding are you thinking?
Learned the hard way after about 3 hail storms vinyl looks good and better than peeling paint on old wood,,,,but tons of repair after the icy rocks hit.
Cement board and LP Smart(type) are pretty darn expensive. Only a tape measure in hand will tell the tale. measure legth width and height and add 10% for waste on a normal house. they say you can subtract 10% for windows and doors. figure per square on siding,,,,THEN double that because all the little trim and extra's you need will easy be that much
BUT before all that chances are the doors and windows need changed also. Besides all the soffits and fascia. If the furnace and air are vintage they need gone too,,,replaces with pvc vented not chimney. Then you have to reroof to cover that hole etc.. Replacing any bad concrete that settled towards the house and is draining wrong way. Inside kitchen and bathes need redone,,,,it never ends as you can tell.
Its all a system and each has to be right in the end | |
