The reality is that the Bakken will peak.. a) because of geology and b) because of price..
It will probably peak here within 6 to 18 months.. but the decline will be stretched out with the now lower prices.. 100 years from now there will be a well still production Bakken Crude.. but I was only looking at North Dakota.. I would need to dig into that Field estimate a little more but Since the Bakken extends outside of the Dakota's my estimate to deplete it may be too long..??
"It depends" but it will not produce forever at a myn bbls per day.. probably 5..8..10.. 12 years.. give or take.
Hamm pulled his hedges off around 60'ish... probably by as early as this summer.. that will look "pretty good."
Does Crude go back to $80.. $85 per bbls... this summer..???
IF it was your resource.. would you let it go for $50 or shut/slow down and wait?
In the oil patch they don't need to build bins.. they can just "shut in" and wait...
I don't know of anyone who thinks were going to stay down at these levels.. for long.
