rochester IN | I spent many hours in one as a teenager. Only in the shop one time that I ever remember for clutch work. As far as the 8440, we want to a 8640 after that and the cab is far better on the deere dependability isn't even close on the deer, horsepower I would say the 8440 to be close to the same ,the pto would be nice on the deere. Have to remember though these are not huge tractors. Some will even say under powered for there weight. And they are a IH engine and rear ends with a truck type 10 speed transmission. Had a neighbor that used to tell us he would goto bed to the sound and wake up to the sound of that tractor it had a strait pipe on it at the time I thought that wAs all right now I would opt for a muffler. | |
