The shift knob goes to a vacuum valve, make sure you have a vacuum line connected from the engine to the valve, also check that the cable is operating the valve properly and the valve is not leaking the vacuum away. then check the lines from the valve to the axle. I have never seen the small bolt pattern "corprate axle" with an electric shift, only the larger ones with the Bud or Dayton wheels, On my truck the electric shifter would not work you would need to change the whole rear axle and wheels.
