Western Oregon | I love the look. We lived in a 3 bedroom/2bath house in town for a while after we retired. Belonged to Sweeties brother. It was vaulted in the open kitchen/living/dining. Didn't like it. Drywall ceiling, plain, cold. Only cabinets were along L wall in kitchen. Did I say cold, it had 2 ceiling fans too, 1 dining room, 1 living room. Don't know about insulation but it should have been well insulated, it had a flatter ceiling than the roof. We have stayed some places that seemed more homey and liked it, we like the cabin/lodge look. At our age we will stick to flat ceilings though. We do have a tray ceiling in our heat sink/solar heated airlock entry, it gathers the heat that rises and a small 12v fan circulates it back into the living area. We live totally off grid, wood heat, in a 420 sqft. little cabin.
Love the pictures shared, beautiful....James | |
