| I lived in a house once that had a TWO story PLUS vaulted ceiling in the living room. It was a LONG way up theere the few times I did that. It was next to the dining room with vault ceiling leading to kitchen with vault which lead to family room with vault. All others besides the living room were one story. Next to living room was a area that both levels with stairs was bedrooms. The stairs were open,,, a balcony of sorts over this living room area. Living room had these long and narrow casement windows on both levels so you could see the lake outside. Heating the house was easy with 2 woodburners,,,and cooling was,if anyone complained it was hot they were told to go jump in the lake(which was a hop over the deck rail) | |
