Customary in out west is combiner pays for damage.

Just have a good dialogue with the guy and let him know he will not get all the beans out of the bad rock spots...

Depends on how bad you want the work, at least he is willing to work with you. Maybe split damage costs over $X dollars. Do not count sickle, guards, auger fingers, etc, but if you bend a shaft or get something up into the STS portion you split the bill.

Used to be you could buy ingestion insurance as a custom operator, too many fraud cases (IE my Rotor Feederhouse etc. needs work so I will eat something). That is what our insurance man told us anyway.
