Subject: RE: 4400 case-ih cornhead

Southwest Ontario
Have been using our 4412f for last 1000 acres and so far has been a nightmare. This head plugs in down corn and standing corn. the corn doesnt even get to the knife rolls before it plugs. The snouts with the height sensors get broken up on the bottom side from the heavy steel sensor banging it , And when they hit a rock the sensors rip right out of the plastic snout. The trash builds up and pushes on the drivers side shield from the wind rowed stubble and then ruins the slip clutch. The chains get out of time , and already breaking. In a little over a week there hasn't been one good day with this head. I don't understsand how caseih can even put their name on this header in this most obviously untested condition. It folds up nice to put into storage which is where it should never have come out of until it was finished and tested in the field. What a lemon. We shouldn't have to spend hundreds of thousands of our dollars to be caseih Guinee pigs, when you spend this kind of money you expect a product to work. What's the use of having a big fancy combine whe the limiting factor of its production is the POS header on the front of it . A lot more time and money better go into the R&D of a good completed and working header , corn ,wheat and beans before they release another one for the sake of all the unfortunate ones who have got the shaft on this one.
