southern MN | Edit: I see a lot of chatter on the net with this being a bug in libreoffice for several years. I can't tell if only in theLinux versions, or in the Windows versions as well? Landscape printing is broken. The fix is to change printing, from or to PDF format - I get lost......

You are saying it is layed out right on your screen, a landscape layout 8.5 high, and 11 inches wide.
When you go to print, it comes out squished down to fit onto a piece of power 11 inches high, and 8.5 inches wide.
There will be 2 areas that control that.
In the printer setup, might be labeled print preview or some such, you should be able to change it. You would want to find 'landscape' printing, somewhere under the printer setup.
It would also be in page layout/format, but in believe you have that correct already. Actually, since you picked web formatting, I suspect nothing special is being set up for the printer in this area, and might be why you have issues. But would expect something works over in the printer setup area.
Note I haven't used near that new a version of that program nor do I have windows 8, so......
