Leave the trans in neutral. to take the flywheel out I think it is a 3/4 6pt socket. Tighten the bolts as tight as you can. They are fine thread grade 8 bolts. I have used a floor jack but for safety put a ratchet strap around the jack head and trans. It is not fun having a 5 speed trans chasing you out from under a truck. You can leave the pump on just take off the hoses and turn off the valve at the tank. Make sure you get a clutch sp line tool to reinstall the clutch. I have had trans slid back in place the first time and I have had them fight me for hours. I think there are 6 bolts torque to 75-85 ft pd.
