Subject: RE: JD 512 vs Krause Dominator vs Case-IH 9300 disc rippers

The rear shanks on a Dominator are smaller than the front & generally set to run shallower. Some run a smsller sweep on the rear as well but we ran 7" DMI winged points front & rear. Run the same on the 870. Far as depth, I run the 870 deeper than what I did the Dominator.According to the productivity monitor on the tractor I'm covering 2.25 - 2.5 acre more poor hour with the 870 than I was the Dominator. In a 12 - 15 hr day thats several more acres per day & on less fuel as well. JMO,but I feel the 870 buries more trash. Ground condition between the 870 & the Dom is a toss up.
