Should a person be afraid of a high hour MT series challenger (7000-10000)?

I realize it would be best to find if service records are available and to look over the reaction arms, tracks, and bogies, but is there anything to feel for in a test drive? What is the life expectancy of the engine or transmission? What does an engine rebuild or transmission rebuild cost?

Just evaluating a couple ideas.

We have a 755B that is a beast, but has already gone through 4 injectors in 1.5 seasons. It has 4000 hours on it. I love the tractor but reliability has been an issue. This may be due to our fuel, don't know. Track system seems to be good but keep the tension up or stay stuck ! Service guy told me it's common for injectors on these engines to go at those hours, I am disappointed. We have red tractors that have 8-9000 hours with original injectors.
